Scans for Declan

Our Dad Declan Nugent was diagnosed with amyloidosis in September last year. It is a very rare genetic disease which causes abnormal protein fibres which attach themselves to the organs, in dad's case his heart, spleen, pancreas, kidneys and bone marrow. He is currently undergoing chemo but every six months has to travel no to London to the royal free hospital for a special scan. This is the only hospital in Europe that provides these scans, each scan cost€6,000.00. Along with other tests, flights and accommodation the costs increase. We are trying to raise money to take this pressure off our parents and this very difficult time.
