MRI for Oscar
Donation protected
Hi,
I am very bashful about putting this up, but there is a very kind and supportive community online of dog owners and they have convinced me.
Meet my gorgeous 3 year old boy Oscar.
He has a Labradoodle who has become very sick.
Symptoms:
- Not eating (will take some food from hand on steroids)
- Not drinking (will take some when on steroids)
- Front two legs slide forward and he seems to be in pain with them- as if they can no longer support him.
- Completely reduced movement
- Hunched/curled up back
- Possibly neck pain
He has been an inpatient, out of hours patient and at the vets almost daily. He has deteriorated so much, I think everyday is going to be his last.
We have spent £6,000 on:
- Bloods
- Blood cultures
- Urine tests
- Stool tests
- Every part of him has been xrayed
- Spinal tap
- Joint taps
We had the top vets in the country that felt every vertebrae on his back and cannot find anything.
Everything is coming back negative.
An MRI and/or a CAT scan has been reccomended at £2,500- £3,000 each. I can’t afford this.
He was discharged on pain relief and high dose of steroids. On his discharge letter it states “undiagnosed”. They said they had to be honest- they don’t know what they are treating.
It is wrong for us to keep him in this pain and condition any longer.
We have to make “thee” call this weekend.
Before we do, I suppose this is a last ditch attempt to see if I could raise some money before making a very final decision.
I am completely at my wits end.
I have put the decision in the hands of the universe now.
Yours in hope,
Oscar and Michaella
