Scanlon Strong

On January 2nd  Caleb was being treated for leg pain & what his mother thought was a swollen hip.  His pediatrician sent them to Children’s Hospital.   After an ultrasound & MRI, they found a tumor on his pelvic bone & spinal cavity as well as blood clots around it & going towards his lungs.  Doctors are 90% sure the tumor is cancer, Ewing’s Sarcoma.   While waiting for the results of the biopsy, they were faced again with more sad news.  An echo was performed on Caleb to make sure his heart was strong enough for chemo.  Turns out what they originally thought was a blood clot on his heart walls is actually a tumor.  Now doctors are trying to figure out if the cancer started on his heart & travel down to his hip or did it begin at the hip & travel to his heart.  As of right now doctors will perform more test to get more answers and once they know more Caleb will receive his port so he can begin chemotherapy.  
As you can see there are so many uncertainties at this point and Sara & Jeff are working hard to take care of their daughter Grace & be there at the hospital for Caleb at the same time.  This account has been set up to help the Scanlon Family with any financial needs they may need during this difficult time.  The amount of expenses that come up such as loss wages, travel expenses to & from the hospital, and the unknown medical bills can be overwhelming.  With a tragedy like this finances can take a toll on a family and we want that to be the least of their worries.
