Just recently, one of my best friends growing up and through college, Ryan Scanlan, was diagnosed with Leukemia and has since been undergoing Chemotherapy treatment.
Ryan grew up in Pottsville, PA, a small town in Northeastern Pennsylvania, best known for being home to America's Oldest Brewery- Yuengling. He has been studying Pharmacy at Temple University since he graduated from Pottsville Area High School in 2016. He is a dedicated student and the hardest worker I know when it comes to his studies. As a reference to how dedicated Ryan has been with his schooling, he finished his undergrad in just 2.5 semesters amidst having to take high level chemistry and biology classes before entering Temple's Graduate Pharmacy Program.
While no one should have to endure something like this, Ryan is the absolute last person. He is the most kind-hearted individual, which you already know if you have been lucky enough to be in his presence. His positive personality is infectious and he has a knack for making everyone around him smile and laugh.
Ryan's family and his girlfriend Madison have been with him by his side since this begun. With COVID-19 restrictions, things are a bit harder than usual, as he cannot have more than 1 visitor per day. Mr. and Mrs. Scanlan have always welcomed us into their home through the years and with this campaign my friends and I hope that we can repay the favor and help ease the burden of this situation.
Our friend, "Scan", is a tough, strong-willed individual who we all know is going to fight like hell. He CAN and he WILL get through this.
