Two Sisters, One Home, and a Plea for Hope to Keep Our Home
Donation protected
Dear Supporters,
My name is Kathryn Rushent, and I’m writing on behalf of myself and my sister, Jessie Spiece. For over 25 years, we’ve shared our home in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada, with our rescue kitties, creating a safe and loving space for them and ourselves.
In recent years, living on fixed incomes—my disability allowance and Jessie’s pension—has become increasingly difficult. We hoped for a solution to ease our struggles and made the mistake of trusting someone we thought could help.
What Happened
A trusted acquaintance introduced us to a bitcoin investment opportunity that promised to change our lives. Desperate for hope, we carefully pooled together over $9,000 to invest, expecting to see returns that could improve our financial situation.
But instead of relief, we were left devastated. The company managing the investment refuses to release what is now over $100,000 of our supposed profit. Meanwhile, our bills are piling up:
Two months behind on our mortgage and second mortgage
Facing overdue utility bills
At risk of losing our internet, phone, and TV bundle as early as tomorrow
We know we made a mistake, but our desperation for a better life led us here. Now, we’re asking for your help to save our home and the little family we’ve built here with our rescue cats.
Why We Need Your Help
Winter is harsh in Canada, and living out of a car with no heater is a terrifying prospect for two elderly women, both managing kidney disease. Your support can help us:
Catch up on our mortgage payments
Pay overdue bills
Keep our rescue cats safe and warm
How You Can Help
Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to stability and security. Here’s how you can make a difference:
Donate: Your support can help us stay in our home and start rebuilding.
Share Our Story: Spread the word to friends and communities.
Offer Advice: If you’ve faced a similar situation, your insights can be invaluable.
Your generosity means more than we can express. It’s not just about saving a house—it’s about saving the life and love that thrives within it.
Thank you for reading our story and for any support you can offer. You are giving us hope when we need it most.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Kathryn & Jessie
