Scammed in 2020

Hello everyone:
So if 2020 hasn't thrown us enough curve balls, here is one more: my wonderful, selfless mother was the victim of a scam today. Yes, Mila. The woman who always put family first and has done so much for so many.
She inadvertently drained her entire life savings from the bank and gave it to some spineless scheming savages that would take advantage of an elderly woman in the middle of a pandemic. Some man named Alex Fitch, claimed to be from the US treasury department, gave her an ID for himself and even a case number for her alleged file. He told her that the government has done so much for her and now this is how she can repay the favor. He told her that she reminded him of his grandma, my mom fell for it: hook,line and sinker. Thankfully, after a trip to the hospital because of elevated blood pressure, she is still with me and thankfully, has her health.
This gofundme page is dedicated to my mom and trying to help her recover as much of her savings as I can. Her humiliation and embarrassment will take more time to recover from, but hopefully in time, and with your support, I know it will be yet another obstacle she will overcome, just like the countless obstacles that has overcome in her lifetime already, which, as most of you know, are many.
Gee, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm really ready for 2020 to just leave, like it needs to just go.
