Hi, my name is Ken Hurley, and I never thought I’d be here asking for help.

A few months ago, I purchased a car from a dealership in Fort Lauderdale. I spent everything I had 5,000 dollars— not only buying the vehicle but also fixing it up another 1.5k in repairs— only to discover the dealership had sold me a car they didn’t even own. They have no title. The had a finance company buy cars

For them ant Auction.. they never paid that company, so they never got the totes for those car… but still sold them to unsuspecting buyers. They forged paperwork and lied to the state, even went as far as registering the vehicle in my name. They forehead repair paperwork to make the vehicle seem safe and dependable..

Only to have the engine have a total Mechanical failure on the way back from a show with the whole family in the car. I am not stuck with a trapped car

I don’t even own.. and I’m now in the middle of a legal battle trying to make it right. the chances of a positive outcome are close to none. but it’s my only recourse. I have reached out to all agencies for help. so far I have not had any success .

To make matters worse, I recently lost my day job and have been struggling to replace that income. All of this has put me

Behind in rent and other necessities like food. I have just started a job that isn't ideal but it’s close to my Fiancés work and it makes it easier being that we only have one car at the moment. We just repaired our only other vehicle — a truck —it had a bad fuel pump. but the cost has put us even further behind. I normally do my own service work but had to have a Mechanic to it because it was the fuel system and I had no way of doing that job in my drive way. (fuel pump, sending unit and gauge) thank you to our friends for helping with that situation.that has cost me another $800.

I’m also a part time traveling musician. The work isn’t as steady, but a blessing when I do get shows. My family

Has been amazing in supporting my music, and so has the band. I am proud to be associated with all of them.. I am proud stepdad of two amazing kids, and engaged to an amazing woman who supports me through it all. We’re a strong family, but this situation has caused a financial spiral that we can’t climb out of alone. And every day it just get a little worse. Rent keeps going up and I’m sure my landlord knows he can probably get more with someone who doesn’t Have these issues. The kids go to a good public school and are doing well. I want to keep them here, I don’t have the money to

Move them anyway.. staying is my only option.

Asking for help is the last thing I ever wanted to do. But I’m doing it now — for my family. If you feel called to help, even a little, we would be truly grateful. all funds collected will go towards my im bills and a Vehicle.
