My DDB co-workers Sean and Rosa Scadlock said goodbye to me at work late Friday afternoon and unknowingly headed home to find a genuinely crazy situation.

A woman driving down their street had a seizure causing her foot to lock against the gas pedal. She ran into the ditch near their home at such an angle that her vehicle was propelled up into a tree and then onto their roof, crashing through the attic. Their two boys were home from school, waiting for mom and dad to get home. Their oldest son did a great job getting himself and his brother to safety. Neighbors came, EMS was called. Sean and Rosa arrived home. The woman was extracted from the vehicle and taken to the hospital. The damage to their home is extensive. Assessment of property damage and immediate and long-term needs has just begun; the family is currently staying with a neighboring household and has a lot of things to do and decisions to make. Recovery from this will be quite a process.
