Mobility scooter and ramp for toddy
Donation protected
I am raising money to purchase a mobility scooter and car ramp for my beautiful husband todd .
Todd suffers from motor neurone disease ( MND) Motor neurone disease (MND) is the name given to a group of diseases in which the nerve cells (neurones) controlling the muscles that enable us to move, speak, breathe and swallow undergo degeneration and die.
Blue cornflower – symbol of hope for the MND communityMND is a progressive, terminal neurological disease
There is no known cure and no effective treatment for MND
Each day in Australia two people die from MND
People with MND progressively lose the use of their limbs and ability to speak, swallow and breathe, whilst their mind and senses usually remain intact
Average life expectancy is 27 months
An estimated 1,900 people have MND in Australia
For every person diagnosed with MND it is estimated that a further 14 members of their family and their friends will live with the effect of MND forever
My husband struggles to walk and relies on a walking aid at present , but his legs are gradually getting worse and struggles to walk short distances . It tears me apart just watching him go through this .
Todd was diagnosed in April 2013 and if I can help him keep his quality of life , and see that smile on his face each day then that's all we need :-)
Thank you so much to all my family and friends for taking the time to read this :-)
