Steven Cockrell, his son Kyle Cockrell and family friend Thomas were involved in a head-on collision en route to a hunting trip from South Carolina to Illinois. The accident occurred just 8 miles from their destination Friday night. Currently Steven, his son Kyle and family friend Thomas are all hospitalized more than 800 miles from home, in Springfield Illinois.
Steven is currently in ICU in serious condition, having been flown via helicopter from the accident. He is in serious condition but stable. Severely broken bones in legs, ankle and arm, multiple bruises and lots of swelling. He has had one surgery on his leg and partial surgery on his arm and he is facing more surgeries in the coming few days. His son Kyle has a severely sprained ankle and some issues with his lungs.
This Go Fund Me page is set up to help them with hotel and food expenses and any travel expenses to get back home safely to South Carolina. Any additional funds will be utilized to help with medical expenses incurred in the coming months.
