Mimi needs your help!!

My heart is breaking as I type this for several reasons. If you know me, you know who Mia is and how much she means to me. If not, Mia is my 4 year old sweet pitty baby, full of personality and sass, my partner in crime as I bring her more places than I probably should, putting a smile on anyone that meets her, and most importantly my heart and soul in a dog.
Over the past several weeks Mia has been not herself, not wanting to play, distant, and sad. She has been struggling to walk, sit or stand after laying down. She no longer gets overly excited or does the zoomies to greet us, or is able to jump up and down on furniture or in my car. After several tests, appointments and a referral to a specialist we have discovered Mia is suffering from hip dysplasia, common in pits, which will lead to severe arthritis later on if left untreated, and she also has double ACL tears in both of her knees. This is very debilitating, hindering her ability to put weight on her knees and therefore walk, causing constant pain as she moves. While I am so so thankful that this is not a life threatening matter, it is a serious matter of her quality of life as she is a super social and active dog, and the pain and lack of ability to move is causing her ( and me ) great pain, sadness and stress. Mia will need to get 2 separate serious surgeries over the next few months to repair the tears, as well as potential physical therapy on her hips, on top of copious amounts of meds and vet appointments to keep her comfortable through her long recovery. Unfortunately, when it comes to veterinary costs there are not many options to help financially, and we are expected to pay in full at the time of surgery. I’m not one to throw myself a pitty party and have a hard time asking for help, but as a 25 year old who is just now getting her life together, a $10,000 ($5000 per knee) vet bill is just not in my budget. I am looking into loan options and exhausting all resources but even with picking up hours at the salon, it will be months before I can save up that kind of money. The longer she goes, the worse the tears get and the more complicated the surgery and recovery become. I am beyond upset and frustrated that the only thing standing between Mia getting the help she needs is lack of funds, so I am putting my pride aside and creating this in hopes to help get the baby the surgery she needs and have her back to feeling like herself again. Absolutely anything you can donate we are beyond thankful for, and if you can’t, please just keep her cute little face in your thoughts and send some positive energy our way. Thank you x1000 for helping us.
