Come To
Come To is a narrative short film following Julie, a 17-year-old Pennsylvania girl, as she navigates high school life after her older sibling comes out as a transgender woman. Lack of communication between Julie and her family pushes her to reexamine her preconceived notions of gender and femininity within the context of her conservative small town.
We are Temple University undergraduate students taking on our most ambitious project yet. The film will be shot entirely on location in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania with Pennsylvania based crew and cast.
Our shoot days are June 9,10, & 11, with post production hopefully being completed by early July. We are excited to launch our campaign in the upcoming days as our shoot approaches!
What your support means
Come To is a timely story as transgender issues gain more widespread attention. We hope to provide this film as a resource to families who feel they have no models for when someone they love comes out as transgender. Come To is based on a true story, one which we hope resonates with you and your family.
Meet the crew

LUCY SOUTTER, PRODUCER:
Lucy Soutter is an undergraduate film student in her second year at Temple University. Although primarily a screenwriter, she throws herself into any role and is excited for her first project as a producer. Her work typically deals with explorations of femininity and magical realism.

BRYNN ANTARAN, DIRECTOR
Brynn Antaran is an aspiring American film director, screenwriter and producer. Raised mainly in the Pacific Northwest, she is now based in Philadelphia, PA and Savannah, GA. She is currently in her second year of the film program at Temple University. Her work primarily deals with American regionalist themes and feminist issues.

MARIA VATTIMO, DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY:
Maria Vattimo is a senior in her last semester at Temple University. She has worked in both directing and cinematography and hopes to continue her work in the Philadelphia area after graduation. Her recent works have included cinematography for A Tear Drop A Day and directing Dust it Off. She is inspired by the filmmakers Ronit Elkabetz, Gus Van Sant and Darren Aronofsky. Filmmaker by day, Italian chef by night.

PEYTON EMBREE, WRITER:
Peyton Embree is an undergraduate film student at Temple University, with a special interest in screenwriting. Much of her work is inspired by her hometown of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, and explores themes of adolescence and self-discovery. In the future, she hopes to write feature-length, coming-of-age stories that address current issues among the American youth.
Funds Breakdown
50% - craft services
20% - art department
20% - transportation
10% - contingency

We are a big cast and crew, working entirely on a volunteer basis. The least we can offer to the wonderful people who work on this film is to keep them fed and energized. A full crew is a productive crew, so craft services is key.
The vision for this film attempts to capture a very specific aesthetic, thus needing a lot of time, energy, and resources. We have been lucky enough to procure a location pro bono. The house is completely unadorned - a blessing and curse. We look forward to having such a broad canvas to work with, but need to assemble and craft the set details to make it fit.
As this is a Temple University based project, the entirety of the crew is based in Philadelphia. In order to shoot on location in Schwenksville, we need to be able to bring our lovely crew to set over the course of three shoot days.
We love film, but she is a cruel mistress. It is impossible to predict what extra costs will arise on the day of a shoot, so we are setting aside 10% of our budget for contingency so we are covered in the case of an emergency.
The cast and crew of Come To is unimaginably appreciative of your support. We look forward to sharing the final product with you.
