Melissa's Fight Against Breast Cancer

The last few weeks have been an overwhelming whirlwind. After a lot of information to process, I can say that I have an aggressive stage 2 breast cancer. I have gotten used to saying “I have cancer” over the last week, but it never goes without a lot of emotion. Looking at your children knowing you may not be able to watch them grow up is something I don’t wish on anybody.

What I can say having had time to really think lately is that every minute of every day is so precious. You need to let go of petty indifferences and always truly live in each moment you share with your loved ones. If you are reading this, put your phone down and hug your family and your friends. Whoever you love in this world, tell them.

I will be starting chemotherapy in the coming weeks, and am asking for all the positive vibes to be throw my way. And to my family. Be good to each other, and be good to yourself. I love you all ❤️
