Hello, my name is Fernanda, and the images above are of my little brother Erik. He is 15 years old. Erik has been to three different hospitals; he has been in a medically induced coma, and he has had about 6 different surgeries, including two brain surgeries, which consisted of the removal of his skull after being in a serious car accident on the 4th of July. Our world was completely turned upside down. Erik is the most energetic and playful kid I know. He loves basketball, fishing, working out, and riding 4-wheelers—anything that gets him outside and moving. Seeing him in that state was something that none of us were prepared for, and we're doing everything we can to stay strong and support him. This year he was supposed to start his first year of high school, and he was extremely excited to try out for basketball.

I know that current times are extremely difficult for everyone, but if you ever wanted to do something that truly matters, this is one! Every dollar helps us pay Erik's medical care and gives us the ability to cater to his needs. I've started this fundraiser to help cover medical bills as well as essential equipment—like a recliner bed and a helmet that is required for his recovery. My mom has had to quit her job to take care of Erik full-time. Every dollar raised will go directly to helping him heal and giving us the opportunity to obtain the resources to support him through this very difficult time.
