Help Us Rebuild After a Devastating House Fire

Hi, my name is Katherin and I'm a single mother to two amazing boys. Recently, our lives were turned upside down when a fire broke out in our home—completely destroying my sons’ bedroom and everything inside it.

The rest of our home suffered extensive damage, including nearly two inches of water throughout, caused by the efforts of fire rescue as they worked hard to stop the flames from spreading further. While we are beyond grateful for their quick response, the aftermath has left us with significant loss and a long road to recovery.

This tragedy was the result of negligence on the part of Florida Power & Light (FPL) while working on the power lines near our home. It was something completely out of our control—and yet the impact is something my family will feel for a long time.

As a single mom, trying to navigate the emotional and financial toll of this experience has been overwhelming. We are now faced with the challenge of replacing my boys' belongings, repairing the home, and finding temporary shelter while it's being restored.
