Michael, a 19-year-old Ethiopian-born U.S. citizen, was found unconscious in his family’s garage after a tragic attempt to take his own life. He was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition, clinging to life.

Michael is the oldest of four siblings, a proud recent graduate of the Coast Guard, and a young man with dreams and visions that inspired everyone around him. He was raised in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and was an active member of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. His family describes him as a kind, ambitious, and loving soul who brought joy to everyone he met.

But behind his bright smile, Michael struggled with mental health issues—a silent battle that many face but few truly understand. On what should have been a day of celebration for the family, after attending church for the Saint Urael Celebration, they returned home to find their beloved son in a devastating state.

Now, Michael’s family is facing unimaginable pain and uncertainty. His parents, who have dedicated their lives to raising their children with love and faith, are now by his side, praying for a miracle. The emotional toll is immense, and the financial burden of medical expenses is adding to their stress.
