Laying to rest our beloved High Desert Burrito Man.

With heavy hearts we had to say goodbye to a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. For many years, my dad helped out the community and served at Holy Family Catholic Church. He would put groups together in efforts to clothe and feed the homeless and eventually gained the reputation of being known as The Burrito Man. My dad was a very selfless man when it came to doing things for others. Anything in his power, even if it seemed impossible to others, he would accomplish and never asked for a thing in return.

As the years went by, his health declined and he could no longer do community service work he so loved. Eventually, his health prevented him from even being able to attend church every week and my mother had to care for him at home. But that never stopped him from being a man of faith.

The end January of 2020 he got really sick and ended up having to get treated for pneumonia and a urinary tract infection. They cleared the urinary infection and sent him home where his pneumonia then got worse. By the time he got treated at another hospital, it got worse and his lungs never fully recovered. He was hospitalized from February 5th, up to March 14th, when sadly his heart finally gave out.

My dad fought up until the very end. They didn’t have high hopes, but he held on for over a month. He left so much more than a wife and kids behind. He left a hugespace and shoes that no one can fill. My dad wasn’t just the kind of guy you didn’t have anything to say about. You either loved him or hated him. And majority was love. Anything from the bottom of your hearts will help.

His passing was very sudden and we never would have thought in a million years he’d go so young. No one is ever truly prepared to face these finances or situations. These funds will not only go towards any funeral costs, but anything left over is going to be a great help to my mother. She is all alone in their home now and we need to renovate what we can to make it more suitable for her.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you and God bless
