Scott Koski is a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. In February 2023, he presented to the emergency room with blood in his urine. Studies and tests revealed he had tumors in his bladder. In February, he underwent his first surgery to remove 7 small tumors from the bladder. This surgery was performed locally. Unfortunately, there was an additional large tumor that was considered too high risk to be removed close to home. He was referred to the Mayo Health System, where he underwent further testing and studies. A second surgery was performed in March at the Mayo, where they took biopsies of the large tumor. It was confirmed that the tumor was malignant, and the safest, most effective treatment would be removal of the bladder. On April 7th Scott underwent cystoprostatectomy (removal of the bladder and prostate) and ileal conduit (urostomy to drain urine). He was diagnosed with an aggressive bladder cancer, Sarcomatoid Urothelial Carcinoma, and prostate cancer.
Medical expenses are growing from doctor visits, hospital stays, surgeries, and tests. Scott is doing well, slowly healing from the last surgery. Plans are to start chemotherapy in the near future.
Please consider a donation to help support Scott and his family during his cancer battle.
