Pigs in Paradise was born unexpectedly during COVID, when two rescued pigs suddenly became sixteen overnight. What began as an emergency quickly became a life changing realization. While searching for farms to rehome them, we discovered a heartbreaking truth: farms are not always the paradise we imagine. Many pigs endure poor conditions, malnutrition, and neglect. Globally, the majority of pigs are raised on industrial farms, and here in Antigua, many are confined to small pens from birth until their premature slaughter.

Our love for animals was simply too strong to turn away. We believed that if animals needed funding to survive, then the most meaningful way to do that was to share them with others, to allow people to connect with them, learn from them, and fall in love with them as we did. That belief became Pigs in Paradise.

During this time, many local farmers were struggling to feed their animals. We stepped in wherever we could, purchasing animals to save them from being slaughtered. What started with pigs soon grew to include horses, donkeys, goats, dogs, and cats. Over the years, Pigs in Paradise has funded the rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming, shelter, and lifelong care of countless animals, each one treated with dignity, safety, and love.

Sadly, in April 2025, we were forced to close our educational excursions, where visitors could meet the animals, learn about their intelligence, and experience their unique personalities firsthand. While this was a devastating setback, we have not given up. The animals still depend on us every single day, and we remain committed to giving them the life they deserve.

Today, we humbly ask for your compassion and support.

Your contribution will go directly toward the daily care and wellbeing of the animals, including food, supplements, fresh water, vaccinations, deworming, medical care, medications, and spay and neuter expenses. Donations also help cover essential operating costs such as maintenance and repair materials, rent, electricity, water, waste management, gas for water pumps, cleaning and sanitation supplies, and the support of dedicated animal caretakers who are on site every day ensuring the animals are safe, clean, healthy, and deeply loved.
