Pigs in Paradise was born unexpectedly during COVID when two rescue pigs quickly turned into sixteen overnight. Realizing we couldn’t keep them all, we began searching for a farm. However, after extensive research, we discovered that farms are not always the paradise they seem—many pigs endure poor conditions, malnutrition, and neglect. The harsh reality is that the majority of pigs worldwide live on industrial farms, and in Antigua, pigs are confined to pens from birth until their premature slaughter.

 Our love for pigs was too strong to allow them to suffer such a fate. Instead of rehoming them, we chose to keep them all and soon, our rescue efforts expanded. Local farmers shared how the pandemic left them struggling to feed their animals, forcing them to send many to the abattoir. Determined to help, we intervened, purchasing as many pigs as possible to save them from that fate. Today, those pigs remain safe with us.

 To support our growing sanctuary, we fund our efforts through educational excursions, where we introduce visitors to the intelligence and unique personalities of these incredible animals.

For now, we have secured a home for our pigs and other rescued animals for the next three years. However, our ultimate goal is to move them to a larger, permanent sanctuary, a place where they can thrive. With your help, we can make this dream a reality.

 As a nonprofit, Pigs in Paradise is committed to rescue, rehabilitation, and sanctuary. Our vision is to create a space where animals are safe, happy, and free to live out their lives in peace. We also hope to move them closer to our location, allowing us to merge our sanctuary with educational tours so more people can experience and connect with these amazing animals firsthand.
