On March 6th, 2026, my nina was meant to be celebrating another year of life. Instead, she was hospitalized and diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and jaundice. Her health declined quicker than expected, and her liver and kidneys began to fail her. She was also diagnosed with cervical cancer during this time, which made her ineligible for a transplant. Yesterday we received the call that her organs are no longer functioning. They shut down and now the toxins are going to her head. Her doctor told us, "There is no hope. She will be gone tonight."
A day meant to be filled with celebration of life, now turned into a day of tragedy and heartbreak for my family as we plan our goodbye's to Cydia Padilla.
All donations will be going to cover hospital bills, funeral arrangements, and cremation.
I ask to please give the family privacy during this hard time, I will update as soon as I can.
Cydia is going to be joined in the after-life with her daughter; Annessa Rose Padilla, her father; Raul Cuevas Padilla and her fur baby; Angie.
Cydia is survived by her mother; Domitila Olga Padilla, her siblings; Gilbert Padilla and Emilia Caceres, Goddaughter; Elizabeth Daniele Guillen, her nieces and nephews; Vanessa Genoveva Martinez, Jesus Rodolpho Leyva, Tiffany Marie Cortez, Gilbert Joseph Padilla, Anthony Emmanuel Padilla, and her grandbabies; Isabella, Rudy, Mya, Rodolpho, Luis, Isaiah, Enrique, Joany, Elijah and Santos as well as the rest of her beloved family and friends.
**UPDATE**
Tonight my nina is being transferred to hospice tonight.
Due to how quick things have declined and the timing of everything, we are unfortunately unable to have a viewing WITH her but we are still having a service FOR her, so I’ve adjusted the gofund me goal accordingly.
I want to give a big thank you to everyone who has prayed, helped or reached out during this difficult time.
Lastly, if anyone would like to share any pictures or stories of my nina, please do. Thank you again to everyone.
**Services will be held in April in Houston, TX. Will update once we select a day and time**
