My name is Diane Heth. I am a personal friend of Dave and Sara Ramirez. I am helping them with this fundraiser in order to pay for their funeral and travel expenses following the recent suicide death of their trans daughter Noelle. All proceeds will be paid to the Ramirez family. I am doing this because they are too grief-stricken to do so themselves.
I want each of you reading this to know how much Noelle meant to all of us.
Through all the wrong diagnoses, the endless doctors, school, and counselor changes, along with the hospital stays - she always believed someone would eventually help her find the way to her true self.
She was incredibly bright - a shining star.
She was so kind to everyone - a stranger in a store who needed help with bags to the neighbor next door.
Even when there seemed like no one could or would help, she remained positive that eventually, she would be better.
She was love.
She was happiness.
She did not deserve to have her life end in this manner but truly felt she could no longer fight.
But even she lost hope - and ended her beautiful life near her home away from the family who loved her.
This tragic story with its tragic ending is heard and read too often.....
Now let me tell you a bit more about this beautiful human being -
Noelle Skyler Ramirez was born May 3, 2002, and was an incredible soul who truly brought a light to the lives of her family and all those around her. She woke up each day even as a baby with a smile on her face and such a light easy disposition. She had already memorized the Periodic Table of Elements, not just names and numbers but half-life and more, before she was 8 years old. She was that smart. She lived in Texas for 2 years, where she'd swim, go to the beach, and visit the ferry and lighthouse. At 3 she moved to Michigan to be near her siblings. This was an incredibly happy time of her life.
After 6 years in Michigan, she moved to Colorado with her family, and it was during this time she was first diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and would later also be diagnosed with OCD, depression, and gender dysphoria.
As she lived in Colorado, Noelle continued to show what a kind and intelligent person she was, building her own smelter and melting metals at high temperatures on the patio of the apartment she lived in at the time with her family. A smelter that unfortunately had to go away after almost blowing said patio off the building one day! Around the same time she started building computers, even going so far as to use her own money to build computers for friends who could not afford them, asking for nothing in return.
When Noelle came out as trans, her family accepted her with loving and welcoming arms as they assisted her in transitioning. She felt much closer to who she was supposed to be after years of HRT and gender reassignment.
Unfortunately, after many years of numerous doctor appointments and hospital stays, along with other attempts to take her own life, she was not able to truly get the help she needed. During the most recent hospital stay, her Mom and Dad begged the them to keep her until she got the help she needed fearing she would not be here much longer their response was simply - Yes we hear that a lot.
Noelle's mental illness won in the extreme battle she worked so incredibly hard to fight, and the world lost someone truly special. We hope that now she is finally at peace and that she knows that she was loved and cherished unconditionally for the incredibly special person she was in this world.
I want to let you know that this money is only intended to cover funeral and funeral-related expenses. If any money is leftover from that it will be donated to Autism and/or Trans charitable causes to honor Noelle's life.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated. On behalf of my friends, Dave and Sara Ramirez, thank you for reading their story about their kind, loving and beautiful daughter whom they miss so very very much.
Thank you, Diane
