We are saddened by the tragic and sudden loss of our son, brother, friend, Kyle Mickey on April 28 at the age of 27.
Kyle is survived by his mother Carmen Mickey, brother Joey Boucher, uncle Kevin Mickey, grandmother Addy Mickey and his heart Kay Mitchell. Kyle was born May 03 1990, and lived with such passion he impacted every person he met. He will be forever missed and carried on in our hearts.
Kyle was found unresponsive in the LRT late Friday night. He had left work at 10:30 pm and started his way home. He was found slumped over, by bystanders, in the LRT at Crowfoot (direction for him going home) so they started CPR and called EMS. They were able to get vitals signs going after 20 minutes of work and they transferred him to the Foothills hospital. He was admitted to Intensive Care Unit A where all measures were taken to support life. Due to extreme brain damage his organs started failing. Carmen his mom and Kirsten his girlfriend were at his side when life support measures were ended.
He went very peacefully in loving arms of the women he loved and who loved him.
Kyle was a great man. Kyle worked for the Salvation Army at their Thrift Store location. He was kind and generous of heart. He always offered his helping hands whether it was preparing dinner or doing chores he was there to help out and contribute.
He was a great friend to all those he met. He was Carmen's little man growing up, watching out for his mom at all times. He was Kirsten's rock and had found his soul mate. They talked about getting married and having kids -- so much hope and dreams for the future!
Kyle played drums, guitar and sang; he also composed songs. The band Mantis and Hive was his musical musical love and his band mates will miss him greatly.
Kirsten would like to thank those bystanders at the Crowfoot LRT who started CPR as well as the EMS Staff who allowed her to have precious moments with him before his passing. This restored faith in the goodness of people.
