First being introduced to yoga at age 12 and practicing multiple lineages since age 17, I have been a yoga enthusiast and practitioner for over a decade. Now that I am turning 30, I am ready to take the leap to gaining the instructional skills and knowledge to becoming a holistic yoga teacher.
Throughout my years, I have explored practices including Ashtanga, Bikrim, Ghosh, Anahata, Kundalini, Yin, and Vinyasa Flow yoga. Some of these lineages have had their shadow aspects brought to light, either for the practice itself, or the leaders who established it. For this reason, I have chosen to attend school at Perennial Yoga in Madison, Wisconsin with lead instructors Megan Grace and Keith Borden. I truly believe their program is thorough, reflective, and functional to helping me integrate a healthy approach to instructing yoga.
As many of you in my community might be aware, self growth (character building) through many aspects is a large part of my life and value system. In addition to yoga, my practices expand to self massage of the face and neck, hypnosis, guided meditation, silent meditation, qi gong, tai chi, dance, capoeira, journaling, self talk/imaginative dialoguing, plant connection, supplemental nutrition, and conscious food preparation. I began a website this past winter and hope to continue to develop it with information that helps individuals empower themselves on a path of solid healing, as an alternative to chasing the self care dragon. I hope to expand further into remote instruction after receiving certification in December, this year, in a way that is accessible and tuning in to the needs of those who practice with me.
A piece of this journey for me is to connect with my community and- as a practice- ask for support from those who are willing and would like to see me take this leap and continue developing my path of this life time. Please consider making a contribution of any amount and I will receive it with much gratitude.
The total cost of school will be $3100 and I am asking for community support to fund a portion of that total.
Thank you for your support and care.
Love,
Madeline
