Say goodbye to my Mom. Funeral, Mass, Cremation.

Hi, it's Mark Morris. On April 22 my Mother Anna Esposito collapsed at home due to complications from her long battle with COPD, Congestive Heart Failure, and Arterial Fibrillation.

By the time EMS arrived, she had gone into Cardiac arrest and had to be given CPR in our living room for 45 minutes before her heart was stable enough to move into the ambulance. After a few days of tests, it became clear that her brain had gone too long without oxygen for there to be any hope of her recovering. She has very little Brain function left.

My Mother's wishes were that everything possible be done to keep her alive no matter how bleak her situation looked. She spent a month in the Hospital in a coma on life support and spent the 2 weeks after that in a Long-Term care home in a Persistent Vegetative State while still on life support. She hasn't shown any signs of positive progress or being able to hear, see or feel me with her since the day she collapsed.

Yesterday she was transferred to the ICU of New York Presbyterian Queens, due to a bacterial infection. It is at this point a matter of days before life support can no longer keep her with us.

Anyone who knows us knows we have been shut in together in our apartment these last few years. Her due to illness and I to take care of her, and due to depression. I spent a lot of quality time with Mom before this tragedy. I am blessed to have loved her and been loved by her. I know that we have both been withdrawn from the world for years.

It kills me to say that I don't have the funds necessary to pay for a proper farewell for my Mom.

If any of you have the money to spare you would have my eternal gratitude for giving me the ability to send my beloved Mother off with dignity.

The money will go towards a viewing at O'Shea-Hoey Funeral Home, a mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, and the Cremation she wanted.

I will try to get the word out to anyone who knew either of us so you can say goodbye to her as well, I will update you with the date/time/address of the services once they have been finalized.
