"I never felt so much at home as I do in New York. I must be a devil." - Brendan Behan
Lofty Quinn arrives in Queens, New York to bury his estranged father and finds a new family of sorts with his dad's best friend Tom Lyons, his pals Slee and Hobbes, their barmaid Aoife, and barroom philosopher Fish Ryan.
When the pub is foreclosed upon and Aoife is threatened with deportation, a plan is hatched for Lofty to marry Aoife in exchange for the money to save the bar. When the boys’ plans come to fruition and Lofty and Aoife’s dodgy romance threatens to turn real, Lofty discovers a long-hidden affair between Aoife and Tom that could derail their best laid plans and send everyone their separate ways for good.
