Say Family Support Following the Lahaina Fire

Hey, hey! My name is Meredith and I’ve had the honor of being Katie’s pal since we were in grade school. For those of you that do not know, Katie and her husband, Aydin, lost everything in the Lahaina fires just a few nights ago. Their home, their cars, their photos, their clothes, their jobs — everything.

It’s hard for me to even begin to imagine what they are going through, but what I do know is that Katie + Aydin gave anyone that ever visited their sacred home of Lahaina the shirt off their back. With tours, bbq feasts, golf cart rides, etc — their pride and love for their home was contagious. In the blink of an eye, they lost it all and now it’s time for us to step up and show them that we are here to help.

When I asked Katie if it was ok to start this fundraiser, she quickly replied, “But there are others worse off.”

That’s so Katie. While that may be true, starting from zero is expensive. And if there’s anything extra, I know she’ll pay it forward to her neighbors. But right now, she’s in shock. We all are.

So many of you have reached out to ask how you can help Katie + Aydin (and their fur babies!). I’m inviting you to donate what you can - to help these beautiful souls rebuild the life they worked so hard to achieve. They are uncertain what lies ahead, but they have a fresh slate. We are confident that — surrounded by all this love — they will remain strong and make the best of it.
