Hi, my name is Amber, and I’m a single mom to two amazing little girls — Sadie, 5, and Sawyer, 2.

In January 2024, our lives changed forever when Sawyer was diagnosed with polymicrogyria and cerebral palsy, conditions that affect her movement, speech, swallowing, and daily functioning. On top of that, she experiences unpredictable seizures, which can be life-threatening.

Since her diagnosis, my days are a constant balancing act — therapy appointments, hospital visits, specialist trips, and full-time care for both my girls, all while trying to keep our home and life running.

Our Daily Reality

• Weekly therapy sessions: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language

• Monthly appointments: pediatrician, neurologist, developmental specialists

• Out-of-town specialist trips: eyes, teeth, seizure management

• Emergency trips to Edmonton: whenever Sawyer has seizures or medical complications

• Over 16 out-of-town medical trips in the past year

• Constant vigilance: I can’t leave her side, even for a few minutes

• No steady income: I cannot work while caring for her full-time

Why We Need Your Help

Caring for Sawyer is a full-time, around-the-clock responsibility. Her father is not currently involved due to serious health challenges of his own, and I’m doing my absolute best — but I’m overwhelmed emotionally and financially.

I dream of giving Sawyer and Sadie a stable, happy life, but I can’t do it alone. Your support can make a real, immediate difference in our lives.
