Savita's family is taking donations in lieu of flowers for her funeral. She passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024 and was very philanthropic in providing funding to India for women and girls. Savita and her late husband Purushottam have transformed many lives of young women by providing them an opportunity to gain education that they otherwise would not have had. This is truly a pay-it-forward situation where my Dad received such a donation from a generous donor which facilitated his college education. All funds collected will be dispersed to non-profit organizations that serve to further education for women and girls throughout the world and specifically their homeland India.
