SAVING CHLOE
"I arrived at the gates of Renbury Pound today, at the same time as Chloe was going to be surrendered!
Chloe was bewildered and lost. She didn't know what was happening, but she knew something was wrong...
Chloe had been the family dog for four years, since she was a pup. She had her favourite pink sheet, and her favourite chew toy with her, and she was wearing her beautiful pink collar.
Her human explained how their circumstances had tragically changed, in a way we hope none of us has to face. They were genuinely unable to keep her, but had been unable to find a home for her in an unexpected, very short time frame. They had no time left to rehome her, and were brokenhearted about the position they found themselves in. We won't go into more detail to respect their privacy.
Renbury Pound wanted them to sign a form giving Renbury permission to kill Chloe, in order to surrender her. They had to read the form, but had not signed it yet. Renbury Pound is a high kill pound, which kills dogs simply for 'not coping with the pound environment'
Renbury Pound frequently schedule dogs to be killed when their mandatory holding time is up. We had serious and realistic concerns that even the nicest dog could be killed if they went into this place.
Chloe got out of the car, wagging her tail and went up to me for a pat and a cuddle. I could see how scared, confused and vulnerable she was....
We looked into each other's eyes and hearts...and I knew what I had to do. There was no doubt in my heart. I promised to take Chloe, look after her, and find her a loving, forever home.” ...Shannon
Chloe was surrendered into Shannon’s arms and her care, at the gates of Renbury Pound. Chloe NEVER passed through those gates, and she never will!!!
Chloe is SAFe!!
We will find Chloe a loving family for the rest of her life. She is a beautiful, gentle, loving dog.
Chloe is very well mannered, but she does jump up, and pulls on her leash when walking. We will provide training for her to teach her not to jump up, and teach her how to walk on a loose leash. We will also provide all her basic obedience training, and a trainer/behaviourist to help her settle into her new home
We need your help to cover these costs for Chloe until we can find her forever home...
1. Board for 4-5 weeks - $850
2. Food, nutrition and treats for 4-5 weeks - $230
3. Crate for crate training to help Chloe settle in to her new home - $150
4. Flea, tick and worming treatment - $120
5. Training, including easywalk harness - $300
6. Bed - $100
