Saving Mr. Bip
I'm using my friend's words, because she got it spot on:
"So there's this friend of mine, Maria - she's amazing. She is one of those heart of gold and would give a stranger the shirt of her back kind of people. She selflessly serves the public as a police officer and she's a damn good one. She cares about people, her community, the state of humanity in general. She's had some tough moments in her life but she pulls her shit together and presses on, never asks for help or a handout. Honestly, she's one of the most bad ass women I know and I am incredibly lucky to have her love and friendship in my life.
On 8/16, Maria's Jack Russell, BiP (acronym for EOD Blow In Place and also stands for his official name, Breck Iver Pol) was accidentally run over by a car while she was at work, his back was broken. Maria's two dogs, BiP and Bowden, are her only children, her world. They are her therapy, they keep her sane and comfort her when she comes home from one of the most grueling jobs a person can have so she is doing everything she can to save BiPs life...and it's coming at a very steep price, of course.
Maria is a very proud woman - sometimes stubbornly so (lol) so her sister has set up a GoFundMe account to help save BiP. His odds are good but the surgery and follow on therapy will be expensive.
Family, friends, dog-lovers - this is no stranger to me but one of my very dearest friends. If you could help, even with just a small amount, it would mean the world to me.
Help us save BiP.
Thank you."
