Lasting Effect: Traumatic Brain Injury

Donation protected

Christelle, my love, was hit by a car, and she has a traumatic brain injury. We need your help to keep her going. She has been reduced to a tense ball of anxiety and fear. Her skull was broken by a distracted driver who got away with a 90$ traffic ticket. She was a fully functioning human being, contributing to society.

It is important to know that recovery from this type of injury does not occur on a fixed timeline. It has been seven months and we continue to hope for improvement.
In effect, this has been a life ending event. Christelle has lost her quality of life, her occupation that she has enjoyed so much and ability to determine what to do with her free time.
Christelle worked full time as an admissions counselor, was set to graduate with a masters level degree in psychology, and still found time to volunteer at a yoga studio in exchange for a certification.

The entirety of our lives are occupied with dealing with social services and doctor appointments. The same doctors that are unable to alleviate her pain and forget to write accurate prescriptions for her medication; the same social services that leave her without prescription coverage for a month because of the switchover to a new system.

Christelle deserves a peace of mind. She deserves to recover, for that she needs your help. We are trying to raise an amount of money that would equal half of her years wages so that I could help her move into her own place where she could feel the safety required for her recovery.

It should feel good to give a hand to someone in need. And that feeling of compassion will not diminish you, it will come back to you as a great feeling of a good deed done.

We need our community, our friends and our critics to come together and not only recognize the suffering of an individual but also face the fact that driving should be approached with a greater sense of responsibility. Please don't turn away we need your help. We need our community to step in behind us and keep us upright for the foreseeable future.
Christelle is USAF veteran, but the VA is a broken system and she it still unable to begin enrolling because of the paperwork back-up. Christelle is disabled and yet is facing a continued suspicion and refusal by the Social Security Administration. We are forced to see incompetent doctors and Christelle continues to end up in the emergency rooms. She needs your help. Please know that in helping her you are going to help others as well, Christelle is still determined to finish her Master's Degree and go on to help others in need.

I have got two jobs now and I am trying to work out as much income as possible but that is also happening at a detriment to Christelle's health. Leaving her on her own for long periods of time creates anxiety and uncertainty in her life. She has tried reaching out for support through this site and other social media and the response has been largely apathetic, punctuated by cyber-bullying that sends Christelle into deep depressions and rouses thoughts of suicide. I have decided to take over this fund to shield her from such abuse, the travesty of individuals seeking to hurt a disabled person is unthinkable.

She needs your help more than you know, and even if you can only donate $5, it would mean the whole world to her. All she needs is a small feeling of value left, as she deserves.

Christelle wants you to know that she loves you. If she has offended you it is only because her injury has rendered her filter-less. If you hear her anger don't shy away, step in and try to help her.

Sincerely,
Mikhail Lounev
