Helping My Hero.

Hi, my name is Marc Anthony Freeman. I am a husband and father of two. I currently live in Tampa, FL where I work a 9-5 to support my family and I also spend time furthering my career as an artist (Freeman).

Yesterday, while on my lunch break I gave my hero a call to check on him. He was in the hospital last week and we lost communication due to lack of phone service. After a few moments of catching up the words no son, daughter, husband, wife, friends, or any one else wants to hear were uttered. "Are you sitting down?" I'm typically an optomistic person but my father's tone was different. I've watched him fight life and run through road block after road block fearlessly but this time, his tone sounded different.

After spending a week in the hospital my father was diagnosed with what seems to be a severe case of Bronchiectasis. This is a rare condition in which the lungs' airways become damaged making it hard to clear mucous. Depending on the severity of the Bronchiectasis, it can be hard to breath and regular activies can become difficult. My father also revealed to me that he thinks they may have found a lump on his lung as well.

Everything is so new to me right now. I don't have nearly as much information as I need about what's going on with my father to get adequate sleep at the moment. I am a man of faith and I believe that the same God that created the heavens and the earth has this situation and every other situation under control.

I need the funds as soon as possible because this situation is one that has to be handled with urgency. I'm looking for $1,500 to get a flight to my father and back home so that I can meet with the doctors and see exactly where we are with everything  so we know how to fight this situation. My father is currently alone in Seattle, no family or friends to lean on, and I don't believe this is something anyone should go through alone. He needs me by his side right now more than ever. Not because he's not strong but because this fight is different and I make sure I'm there encouraging him no matter what the circumstances may look like.

In order to get there I would need to take off work. I would like to stay at least a week to meet with doctors and assist my father in finding as much stabilization as possible. I don't have any vacation time due to the fact that I'm taking a week in September to welcome my new baby boy into the world. These funds would assist my family in filling in the gap while I'm away.

I'm not sure what comes with this condition or conditions so it's difficult for me to truly put a cost on what I will need when I get there. I know I won't have transportation so I will be between uber and lyft.

Some people may read this and feel like I haven't asked for enough or I'm underestimating the situation. My goal here is not to gain anything from this financially but just to have the funds to meet the current needs in this moment.

I ask that even after you give whatever you can that you continue to keep my father and hero the same in your prayers as we gear up for another fight. That God will give us the courage and strength to conquer whatever the future may bring.
