Saving Lilo: Emergency Booty Surgery Needed
Donation protected
Recently, our world was completely turned upside down. A lump on Lilo's leg has, in an unbelievably short amount of time, quadrupled in size, growing at a terrifying pace. Our vets have confirmed it's a mass that needs immediate removal, and the situation is far more critical than we ever imagined. This mass is now threatening to attach itself to her muscle and the neighboring lymph nodes. If that happens, Lilo faces a devastating outcome: she'll need to have her entire right leg removed to ensure any suspected cancer is gone. One of favorite games is tag. Well, tag as much as she can understand. We start with booty scratches as "winding her up." Then after she starts doing Nino stomps, I yell, "Run, Run, Run!" And she takes off zooming around the yard at top speed while I attempt to "catch her." I think we're at Lilo 10000/0. She's very proud of herself, and I'm tired.
To be completely honest, I'm at my wit's end. After losing my job, and with the current job market being incredibly challenging, we're simply running out of time to save our precious Nub-Nub and her leg. I'm tirelessly looking for work, but the reality is, she needs this urgent surgery before that's likely to happen. Her medical bills are estimated to be between $4,000 and nearly $9,000, with the higher end of that quote including limb removal. We've exhausted every avenue we can think of, pouring every ounce of our love and what little we have into her care.
Her sassy sighs and nub-nub wiggles are the soundtrack of our home. With all of my health issues, she's been a saintly and unwavering support. She is my noodle horse and I can't imagine living life without her by my side.
Heartbroken, humble, and weary, we're reaching out for help. It's devastating to think about Lilo being in pain, and the thought of watching her slowly fade away is soul crushing. This mass is making life difficult for her. She can no longer able to run as she once did and jumping is nearly impossible. She's finding walking difficult due to the size, location, and fluid nature of the mass. While it's absolutely adorable to watch her imitate the geese from The Aristocrats, she's in pain. Waddle, waddle!
I just need our girl healthy again and bring her back to her happy, carefree self. Any amount, no matter how small, would mean the absolute world to us and, more importantly, to Lilo. We are so incredibly grateful for any support you can offer. Thank you for even considering helping our silly goose fight for her life and her leg.
