Saving Yona
Donation protected
We are a whippet family and we lost our previous whippet to a tragic freak accident in January. Her sister, Shasta, was incredibly depressed and kept searching for her sister. We found her a new sister in Yona.
September 15 Yona went in for a spay and a few days later she spiked with a fever and lethargy. After numerous tests and ultrasounds it was found that she had a uterine stump infection and she went in for her second surgery on the 25th. After that surgery she continued to wax and wane with a high temperature and decreased appetite to the point of losing weight. Our wonderful Drs. at Klaich Animal Hospital have done everything in their capacity to try to find what was wrong with her. It was a joint decision between our team of Drs, Thawny, and myself to have Yona cared for at UC Davis. We made the journey down to UC Davis on Tuesday October 6. Yona has an amazing team at UC Davis that have fallen in love with her but are still stumped as to what is going on with her. They have found that she has jejunal ulcers and still has no appetite and has lost 7lbs in less than a month but no primary diagnosis.
We are continuing with tests and diagnostics to find the primary cause but need help at this time. This is our child and we are imploring on some assistance to help make her better.
Any donation is appreciated and helpful.
