Hello, dear friends and supporters! I am Chef Sharon of The Blue Tree Cafe, located in the historical city of Sistrunk, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

In January of 2023, I made the bold decision to transition the restaurant to a 100% plant-based menu after witnessing the lack of healthy, nourishing food options in our community. This wasn’t just a business move — it was a calling.

So many people in our community want to eat healthier — and they should have that right. That’s why I work hard to keep my prices affordable. Because what good is healthy food if the people who need it most can’t afford it?

We’re located in a food-insecure neighborhood, where access to nourishing, plant-based meals is limited. That’s why Blue Tree Cafe isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a mission.

We first opened our doors in September 2022, on my birthday, and now, by the grace of God, we’re approaching three years of serving love on a plate. But as we prepare to celebrate this milestone, we’re facing one of our toughest seasons yet.

With the rising cost of groceries and continued inflation, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for small, mission-driven restaurants like ours to stay afloat.

I’ve created this GoFundMe not as a plea, but as an invitation to partner with us in keeping our community healthy — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
