Help Blue Tree Cafe, Vegan Restaurant from Closing

Hello, dear friends and supporters! I am Chef Sharon of The Blue Tree Cafe, located in the historical city of Sistrunk, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In January, I decided to go 100% plant based because I saw the lack of healthy food in the community. Last year I opened Blue Tree Cafe on my birthday and now we’re just weeks from celebrating our One Year anniversary. Unfortunately, with the continued inflation and increased grocery costs, we are struggling to say afloat. I've set up this GoFundMe not as a plea, but as an invitation to keep our community healthy. The good word says " You have not because you ask not" James 4:2.

I have been in the catering business for more that 10 years. I always cook with fresh produce and ingredients. After a 3 year bout with cancer, that led to a full mastectomy and removal of the majority of my right lung, I decided to fight with what I knew: healthy food. After I was released from the hospital, I found it was nearly impossible to find clean, plant based food. I did not only want to help myself, but I felt propelled to help others. So I obtained a brick and mortar right before Covid and was at the mercy to get multiple loans which has come back to haunt me doing this recession. Soo many healthy food establishments are closing their doors due to the extreme rise in food prices. If you are health conscious, you can attest that even shopping for clean, organic food is even more costly today than just 6 months ago. In order to provide for my community I must keep my prices affordable. What good is healthy food if you can't afford it. Our community is a food insecure neighborhood. So today I'm asking for my community who see my dream, know my journey or feel the need to help to contribute. Also we are coming up on our one year anniversary and my birthday and third year cancer free.YEAH !!!!
