Saving the Petty Family Home
Donazione protetta
Our names are Hannah (25), Hailey (22), Charles (20), Hayden (18), Harlyn (16), Chase (14), and Chance (12). We are the children of Kim, an incredible mother who gave everything she had to love, protect, and care for us.
In 2023, our mother Kim began her battle with breast cancer. She knew something wasn’t right and sought answers, but despite her persistence, her condition was initially misdiagnosed. In June, she was told she did not have breast cancer—even though she was experiencing pain, hardness, and other changes in her breast. It wasn’t until December 2023 that she received the devastating news: stage three breast cancer.
That moment came just days after another heartbreak—Kim had just lost her father. Earlier that year, she had also lost her sister. Losing both her sister and her father in the same year was an unimaginable weight, but she faced her own diagnosis with courage and resolve.
What was supposed to be a treatable plan of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery quickly changed. By the time Kim began her first chemo treatment in January 2024, the cancer had already spread to her back. Soon after, it reached her brain, bones, lymph nodes, and liver. Doctors told her it was no longer curable.
Still, Kim fought with everything she had. Through it all, she continued to care for us, her children, putting our needs before her own, even in the darkest moments. On April 3, 2025, Kim passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience.
Alongside her children, Kim leaves behind a home that meant the world to her. She worked so hard to buy it and took great pride in it. It was more than just a house—it was a symbol of her love, sacrifice, and the safe place she built for all eight of us.
We are doing everything we can to stay together and preserve the home that carries her memory. While we work on a long-term plan to maintain the house, we are humbly asking for help with covering the mortgage and utilities in the meantime. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help us keep our family together and honor the home our mom was so proud of.
Thank you for your support, for sharing our story, and for helping us honor our mom’s legacy.
With love and gratitude,
Hannah, Hailey, Charles, Hayden, Harlyn, Chase, and Chance
