Saving the Jones'

Below is my Aunt's story told by her Sister.....I wanted to be able to help Aunt Lori and this is one way i can...


Hi, I’m Debbee here to write about my sister, Lori, who is 59 years old, and lives in Snyder TX,  All of her family, including her two older siblings, lives in the Phoenix, AZ area.

Let me start out by telling you that Lori has a husband, Mike, who is also 59, and works himself to death to provide for the family. She has two teenage daughters, ages 17 and15,   and a six-month old grand baby living with her.  Natalie works at Taco Bell making $8,50 per hour to support her baby  They have always lived under their means and sacrificed to make ends meet.

Lori has suffered and fought colon cancer and lung cancer for 8 years.  In 2012, Lori was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer   She started out with massive radiation and chemotherapy and then they performed 4 surgeries within 2 years along with radiation and chemotherapy which makes her very sick.  She wears a colostomy bag which is permanent and very costly.  Then, in 2016, the cancer had spread and they performed a 13-hour surgery and took out everything surrounding the colon and found that it had spread to her lungs.  All of these surgeries and chemo have totally exhausted Lori.  Natalie and Brandy were 9 and 7 when this all began  They have endured life at the same time taking care of their mother and not knowing how long she would be around.  Lori has maintained a good attitude and maintains a strong faith. And, now with her new grand baby she is determined to live.  All of these procedures are done in Lubbock which is one hour away and they survive with one old beat-up car.  They owe over $200,000 in medical bills.

More recently, they have been ordered to move out of their house because the owner wants to finally fix up the house and move back in.   The laws in Texas allow a landlord to do that.  They had three days to move out.  I can’t even imagine having cancer, having to pack, no money to help with medical expenses and Mike working hard at the City of Snyder to make sure they have food, clothing and shelter.  They are homeless. They would prefer just moving back to Arizona where family and friends can help them.  They need money for a home, newer car, and medical bills. 

Currently, Lori is in Stage 4 lung cancer.   They are again performing extensive chemotherapy. She is out of town four days every two weeks   We are again praying and maintaining the faith in hopes that Lori again will make it.  Her doctors want Lori to survive as much as we do.  Lori has the utmost faith I have ever seen from anyone who has endured what she has. 

We are opening up this Go Fund Me to ask for your help with a small donation of any amount.  We are praying and believing that Mike, Lori and family will get enough for their needs.  Please help.  This would very much help Mike and the family be able to cope and maintain a happy and normal life should something happen to Lori.
