Saving Sweet Marley
Donation protected

After being abandoned on a Texas road (with her puppies), Marley (Marshmallow) has experienced some tough times. Her pups were eventually adopted out but Marley was facing euthanasia in a shelter in Texas. From there, she was rescued by Let Love Live MN and transported to the Humane Society of Otter Tail County. On MARCH 2nd, 2021, she was lucky enough to find her FUREVER home with Joe and LeeAnn Barnett.
She is the SWEEEEETEST GIRL and wants nothing more than unconditional love and for those of us who know LeeAnn, you also understand that she has nothing but LOVE TO GIVE. LeeAnn gives UNCONDITIONALLY to everyone around her. She is all about sacrifice, kindness, faith and compassion. Marley has been somewhat nocturnal and LeeAnn even sings lullabies to her for hours every night!! She is the best dog mama ever!!!
Fast forward to May 9th when Marley woke Joe and LeeAnn with some wheezing and hacking, showing signs of discomfort. They took her to the Fergus Falls Companion Animal Hospital where an x-ray revealed she had a sewing needle lodged in the wall of her stomach. She needed to be rushed to the Emergency Animal Hospital in Fargo for surgery. However, before she had the surgery, Marley suffered a seizure and needed to be stabilized before they could proceed. The outlook was SCARY AND SERIOUS but late on a Sunday evening (Mothers Day), the needle was successfully removed and Sweet Marley was able to return HOME on Monday night!! She has 26 staples but is expected to make a full recovery. PRAISE GOD..... prayers were answered!
Here's the crazy part. The VET SAID that the needle was rusted and had likely been embedded in the wall of her stomach for quite sometime as tissue was wrapped around it and the VET could only locate it by "feeling it" and not by sight. When Marley was first adopted, Joe had suspected something might be wrong with her because she would occasionally try to hack something up but never did? This is likely what it was the whole time and has been causing her discomfort all along. AND..... the x-ray ALSO revealed pellets lodged in the wall of her chest, indicating that sometime in her previous life, she had actually been shot. :( This girl has lived a TOUGH LIFE and deserves this amazing FRESH NEW START with the Barnetts.
LeeAnn is now looking at vet bills close to $4k and that is the purpose of this fundraiser. LeeAnn is the most selfless person I know. She is also very HUMBLE and would NEVER ask for help but I believe there are many of us out there who WANT TO HELP. God wants us to share both our JOYS and our BURDENS so I hope you will join me in lifting some of this burden from our dear friends. Any amount you can contribute will help and will be accepted with GRATEFUL HEARTS. Thank You Lord for bringing Sweet Marley girl back home!! Thank You Lord for people like LeeAnn and Joe who bring LIGHT to this world!! Peace. Love. Rescue.
