My best friend since I was born (aka my mom) was diagnosed with Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer (almost stage 4) just a few weeks ago. The oncologist told her there was a 90% chance she would not be here in the next 2-3 years with traditional treatment and referred her to a cancer institute. Looking at their stats, for her specific type of inoperable cancer, the chances of survival drop to 4%. The next vist with the oncologist he said that if he was in the same position (when asked) he'd get a fishing pole and enjoy life and that it is only 1 of 2 cancers that he would not discourage alternative treatment for. We looked for possibilities and found a place with some really great therapies we feel good about. It costs 12k-15k per week and 10 weeks is the the predicted treatment time. Please help if you can. My mom (Susan) is the best. She has always makes me feel so special and loved. She throws the best parties and gatherings - she just makes everything so special! She is generous and kind. She is so fun and we laugh a lot. She is the best aunt and fun mom - all my cousins and friends love her! She gives the best advice and is so smart. She is one of my very favorite adventure buddies. She makes me feel safe and I can't imagine life without her.
No matter what disappointing or negative thing I hear, I feel so hopeful. Miracles exsist, outliers exsist, why can't my mom be one of them? You got this momma.
