I was very hesitant to make this but I promised my dogs I would always try everything to give them the best life.
My little guy Strum was recently diagnosed with chondrosarcoma. This is a type of cancer of the cartilage and his is on his ribs. In rare cases this type of cancer can sometimes be metastatic, but fortunately his is not! However, the doctors are concerned about the size of it. He will require a CT scan to determine how large this tumor is, how invasive it is inside of his body, and if surgery is a possibility at this point to save him. If surgery is not an option, chemotherapy could be another option in order to slow down the growth of this tumor. At that point, the amount of time he has left on this earth is much shorter than if we take it out surgically.
For those who don’t know, I found Strum one morning standing in the middle of a Folly rd in Folly Beach, SC. This rd is very busy and cars drive at least 50mph. Many cars were headed in his direction at this time and so I chased his off the road. A few minutes later I found him hiding behind a tree and was able to lure him over to me with a granola bar. What started as a foster situation, ended up being the best fit for Rita and of course me. If you know Strum then you know how much of a lover he is.
I am asking for help with my baby boy. I want to get all of the necessary information so that I make the best decision for him. I am trying to stay cautiously optimistic, but unfortunately the cost of this all is a lot more than I can afford right now. I am not one to ask for help and I know times are tough, but my dogs are my world. They have been there for me through so many challenging times in my life, they are my rock.
Strum, Rita, and I would appreciate anything you might be able to do. Please share or donate if you feel inspired to.
I thank you for taking the time to read this, please send Strum some
loving energy and keep him in your prayers.
Love,
Maria, Rita, and Strum ❤️
