Project Augustine - Debris Cleanout

Donation protected
Project Augustine has taken on the daunting task of restoring the old St. Augustine Catholic Church in North St. Louis to create a public community center focused on food, art, and community services. The restoration project cost has been estimated at ~$10 million. That's a LOT of money, so we're breaking this thing down into small goals that allow us to make progress while keeping our eye on the big picture.

GOAL 1: Debris clean-out! The rectory building is almost completely cleaned out, but the sanctuary is another story. This portion calls for some seriously heavy lifting and safety measures, so we need to call in the big guns (us doing this on our own with volunteers just isn't an option). Funds raised in this phase will be used to hire experienced professionals to safely remove debris and materials from the sanctuary so inside stabilization and roof work can begin. This is SUPER important, because the clean-out will give everyone the space they need inside to work safely and quickly in our next phases. The faster we get this junk out of the church, the faster we can save her!

This is a $10,000 initial goal, but we expect it may take as much as $25,000.
