Sharon is the small business owner of Tumbling4Cheerleading gym (TCA) in Illinois. She has positively impacted the lives of thousands of athletes through encouraging them to meet their athletic and personal goals. I first came to meet Sharon when I was coaching my daughter’s cheer team. She and her son, who is a coach at the gym, have helped my daughter meet her tumbling and cheer goals, and raise her confidence enough to strive toward making the high school cheer team. Not only is her son involved in this endeavor of raising the confidence of so many athletes in our and surrounding areas, her daughter-in-law has taught cheer classes at the gym and her grandson (pictured with Sharon) has even assisted in this true family affair. Sadly, I just learned yesterday that Sharon’s cancer is spreading and can soon reach other organs. She needs an expensive round of treatments, and this is not covered by her current healthcare program. If she does not have the funding to start treatments in the next couple of weeks, she will be staring at death.
The girls on my team love Sharon and her family. She has selflessly helped my team and all the New Lenox (and surrounding towns') cheer teams to meet their goals of making it to the state competitions by finding a way for us to practice indoors. I cannot imagine the world of cheer without her, and am asking for any small contribution you can afford. I hope that the athletes she has helped, their families, and others can assist in providing her with a chance at watching her grandson grow. This year Sharon has had to face an additional treacherous battle given the impact that Covid has had on small businesses. For quite some time, TCA has had to operate in a limited capacity.
