Sham was brought to me straight off the racetrack a year ago, bred in Ireland and raced in the U.K, we were slowly working our way towards a career as a retrained riding horse.
Unfortunately a few month ago Sham sustained an injury which involved a rather large vet bill being accumulated, of which I have just managed to pay off. The injury had healed so quickly that we were able to attend this year's Retraining of Racehorses National Championships at Aintree and be placed 2nd for our efforts.
Sadly, on Friday, I received a call from the livery owner to alert me that Sham had been caught in the field fence and sustained a significant injury to his hind leg requiring immediate treatment. Upon arrival the vet insisted immediate transfer to a veterinary hospital for emergency surgery or the only other choice would be to put him to sleep.
Heartbroken at the thought of having to let my best friend go, I quickly made the choice to send him, however, am now faced with the reality that my fund have ran out and I may end up loosing him anyway if I cannot raise the fund to pay the bill (which is expected to be paid in full) upon collection of him this week.
Any help towards bringing my friend home would be very much appreciated. Please help me SAVE SHAM!
