In Memory of SAM I AM

Dear Family, Friends and all Generous Supporters: 

It is with deep sorrow that this update brings bad news.  Samuel Thomas Peede lost his battle with cancer at 8:00 am on September 6, 2020.  For the past few weeks,  Sammy had been struggling with breathing issues, agonizing cancer pain and lack of nutrients during the initial part of this cancer protocol at the treatment center in Tampa.  Sammy was hoping to start the special chemo portion last week, but unfortunately, his health declined quickly, and had to be taken to the hospital upon arrival to the treatment center in Tampa.  Their final diagnosis was that our Sammy was terminal and was not going to survive the next few days.    With group efforts done by his wife Chloe, the Peede and Hustad families, we were able to bring Sammy back to his home in West Palm Beach via ambulance with Chloe by his side.   We are grateful that Sammy survived the 4-hour ride back to his home and once safely there, he passed with all of his loved ones by his side. Sammy died on the anniversary of his cancer diagnosis.     

Sammy was truly loved by everyone and he had a heart of gold and the strength of a bull.  Not one time did he publicly complain about the pain he endured.  Our families mourn; A mother and father who lost their son, brothers who lost their baby brother and a wife and son who lost a future with the man they both loved dearly.   In addition, the many close friends he had, the extended family members and people who donated to his cause that didn’t even know him. 

Sammy was an amazing young man and I personally was blessed to have know him and his close-knit family.   He was truly a fighter and fought for every moment until the end. The pain of this immense loss is unfathomable, and it will take some time for Chloe, Mason, and both of our families to even start to cope.   We are deeply touched and greatly appreciate the financial help to make this one last chance Sammy had a possibility.  Please keep Chloe, Mason, and all of Sammy’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. 

The GoFundMe page will be left up for now to help with all the outstanding and upcoming medical bills from the treatment he had, his hospitalization, his transport back to his home, the hospice care and finally, his funeral cost.  In addition, grief support for Chloe and Mason to the extent anything remains after the medical bills. Your donations have helped give Sammy one last chance at life and we can't thank you enough. 

 Sammy will forever be known as “Sam I AM.” May he rest in peace.
