Hi there, my name is Lisa and my dog Son is called Rolo. He is my whole world and he trusts me implicitly. He has been diagnosed with cataracts and at such a young age it’s probably hereditary. However, with simple but costly cataract surgery, his vision could be restored. It can’t be left untreated for too long or it will not be treatable. Rolo is a Chihuahua and has just turned five years old. Chihuahuas normally live to about twenty years old so he should still expect many years of life in front of him. His eyes have now progressed to both eyes suffering cataracts instead of the initial one eye. He loves looking out of windows and watching the world go by. He loved chasing squirrels in parks. He loved running after his balls when I throw them. He can no longer do these things and his vision is fast deteriorating. It’s killing me to imagine him in a dark and scared world. He is all I have in life and I want nothing more than to save his sight. I’ve had a lot of personal tragedy not too long ago from which I still haven’t recovered, including loosing my Mum and then weeks later suffering a storage unit fire where I lost absolutely everything I had in life and all memorabilia. I asked for no help for this. But for Rolo, and after exhausting every other option, I have decided to put my pride to one side and try a GoFundMe. I will not stop fighting to do all I can for him. I’m appealing to anyone and everyone who would be kind enough to help Rolo out. This is my plea to a world that I hope still cares. Reaching as many people as possible is obviously very important and I’m no social media master to say the least! I need your help. Even if I can only raise half of the money I’m hoping for, this would still mean that I could save one of his eyes and he wouldn’t go totally blind.
