Rodney was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy recently. It is a genetic disease that hits you later on in life. Put simply, he doesn’t get enough blood and oxygen to his body and brain. The surgery will help remove parts of his heart that is blocking him from getting what his body needs. It is called a septal myectomy procedure. He lives in a small town in Texas and hasn’t had access to the best doctors. Him and his family don’t have enough money to pay for the surgery so they are delaying it. The longer it gets delayed the worse he is getting. After spending a weekend with him and watching him cough up blood my heart is breaking. I don’t understand how they can let this happen to him. Everyday he gets worse. It is hard for him to breathe and he will randomly get dizzy due to lack of oxygen and it results in passing out and severe chest pain. He is too humble to ask for money himself so I will. I can’t watch him die any longer. He is a beautiful soul, so connected to his faith and an amazing father. He has a huge heart ( literally) and has a passion for helping children like I do. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support. I know this man is made to do beautiful things in this world. Let’s help him do it!
