My name is Mohammad Hamdan, from Khan Younis - Gaza. I am writing these words while living with unbearable physical pain and the constant fear that I may leave my children alone in this world.
During the war, I sustained a serious neck injury that resulted in a fracture of the second cervical vertebra (C2). This is a delicate and life-threatening injury. I urgently need specialized surgery that cannot be performed inside Gaza due to the lack of proper medical facilities and equipment. Any delay could lead to severe and dangerous complications.
My wife, Rania - may she rest in peace - passed away after a cesarean section. She had suffered from severe malnutrition during displacement. She gave birth to our daughter Nasrat, and shortly after, she passed away. My baby girl entered this world without her mother.
Today, I am both father and mother to my three young children:
Maria - 2 years old
Khaled - 4 years old
Nasrat - 2 and a half months old
We lost our home during the war and now live in a rented room under extremely difficult conditions. Because of my injury, I lost my job and have no source of income.
Why I Need Your Support
Medical Treatment & Travel
- Travel costs for me and my children: $15,000
- Specialized spinal surgery: $34,000
Monthly Basic Living Expenses
- Milk and diapers for baby Nasrat: $400 per month
- Food for Maria and Khaled (one daily meal costing $50): approximately $1,500 per month
- Khaled's kindergarten and education expenses: $300 per month
- My ongoing medications and painkillers: $300 per month
- Rent for the room we are living in: $700 per month
I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for a chance to live - and a chance to remain beside my children. They have already lost their mother. I pray they do not lose their father too.
Any contribution, no matter how small, can help save my life and protect my children's future. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing our story. I place my hope, after God, in your compassion and humanity. I am ready to provide all medical reports and official documents upon request. Save a father...and you save three children.
With gratitude,
Mohammad Hamdan
