Saving Pugs From China’s Dog Meat Trade

We have joined the fight to help save Pugs from China’s meat trade. We need your help! A frightening number of dogs and cats are neglected, abused and slaughtered in this sad industry.  Their suffering is immense.  They are horribly mistreated and then killed, often in front of the other animals that are next in line.  While rescues and shelters in China are trying to do their best to pull animals away from this trade, the fact remains that there is little hope of many of these animals being adopted out in China. Shelters are overcrowded with animals, that while saved from horrible inhumane treatment and certain death, still have no place to go. The shelters are struggling to provide proper nutrition and care.


We are working on bringing 5 Pugs here in just a couple weeks. It’s a small start and comes with a lot of effort and expense, but we believe these lives are worth it! The US mandates that all animals brought in are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines. The cost of that, plus the flight fees, comes to about $1350 per Pug. Our contact in China will cover half of that expense. These Pugs are between 2 - 5 years old. Once in our care, your donation will help provide any further medical treatment including dental work.
