Many of you have heard about this, but our beloved giant orange cat Professor John Cuddleston Holk-Chapnick was gravely injured by a suspected ingestion of poison. A few days ago Devin found him weak and confused in our flower bed. Devin took him to our vet, who told us in no uncertain terms to rush him to the ICU. He had ingested something very caustic, and his mouth, tongue, and esophagus were badly damaged.

Our boy spent two nights in the ICU to save his life. He came home with a feeding tube, so that he could receive nutrients while his mouth and throat heals.

As y'all know, we are expecting our first child in May, and the idea that we could lose Professor is just too overwhelming to consider.

So far we have spent $3800 at the ICU and $250 at his regular vet, which has absolutely gutted our savings. We have been saving for hospital bills and Devin's paternity leave, and now we're just sort of...lost.

We are working really hard to make sure that Professor is comfortable, medicated, and healing. We know that Professor has a lot of friends and fans out in the world, and any assistance would help us so so much.
